CCMP Membership

CCMP’s membership includes physicians, nurses, dentists, podiatrists, pharmacists, optometrists, opticians, physical therapists, medical students and any other volunteers advocating policies for comprehensive healthcare for low-paid workers and their families.

CCMP needs healthcare professionals to take a stand for CCMP’s program and back the strategy with their time and resources to organize alongside low-paid workers and other community members who believe comprehensive healthcare must be a right, regardless of ability to pay.

DELIVER

Provide Care

Medical professionals donate appointments individually or host medical sessions, providing care, working with a medical advocate who follows a benefit recipient from intake to fulfillment of diagnostic and treatment plans.

Despite New York having some of the top rated medical facilities in the country, most low-paid workers live in "medical deserts" with primary care services not available in their neighborhoods.

EDUCATE

Presentations on Health Topics

Medical professionals conduct medical education and information sessions on topics of concern to low-income workers so that attendees learn about ways to take care of their health. Dental professionals similarly lead dental education and information sessions to promote oral hygiene.

Nearly nine out of ten U.S. adults struggle with health literacy. People with higher health literacy skills are more likely to make informed health decisions and have better health outcomes.

MOBILIZE

Refer Colleagues

Members refer and involve other healthcare professionals to CCMP to expand CCMP’s program.

CCMP members include members of associations, labor unions and other organizations of domestic workers, nurses, retirees and all those organized to put the ethics of medicine back into the profession.

Healthcare is the largest employment sector in the U.S. outside the government, totalling 17 million workers. We need members' help to expand and meet more of those employed in this vital sector.
